Polis camping site and latsi harbour

http://www.paphostravelguide.com/paphos/Polis-camping-site.jpg

The polis camping site has a long and a bit controversial story. Through the years its management has been the subject of demonstrations from local ecology groups and activists. As of today half of this beautiful forest of eucaliptus trees by the beach was flooded from by rain and turned into a lake. The facilities are quite clean but avoid eating at the bar on the front of the beach. How wrong though can frying an egg go? This is the best accoodation you can get if you are seriously on a budget.
Every June the summer solsice festival takes place. This year was the 6th consecutive year. You can start your day early at 5.30 with a kundalini yoga practice, continue with different types of classes including taichi, sound meditations with crystal bowls and a big fire and drum show that takes place at night. More info for the fetival at www.cypruspirit.com
There are more events going on in the camping during summer days especially through august which is the busiest and most crowded time in this otherwise beloved spot.
